For the Reflections in Abstraction Exhibition:
Join Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for Art and Learning and Aurora Theatre for a memorable celebration of the artistry of RW Cook at the Artist Reception for the Reflections in Abstraction Exhibition. Immerse yourself in a world of captivating abstraction as Cook’s visionary works take center stage, inviting you to explore the depths of imagination and creativity. The event will feature a talk with the artist himself moderated by Hudgens Center Curator, Kate Driscoll. The event will have light snacks and a cash bar.
Robert Wa’dell Cook is a disabled veteran of the United States Navy (retired) and abstract artist. Cook spent his childhood in the housing projects of Pontiac, Michigan and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and caught up in the struggle for survival, has had little time in life to follow his dreams. In his final five years working with the United States Postal Service, Cook decided he would make the time to pursue his passion for painting. He notes the journey was not an easy one and was only made possible by his unwavering faith in God, the support of his loving wife and family, and of his dear friend, Keith Rouche.
Cook would like to extend a special thank you to Lawrenceville Mayor David Still, without whom this exhibition would not be possible.
The Mary Kistner Gallery is operated in partnership with the Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for Art and Learning.
