Book, Music & Lyrics by Martin Storrow
Directed by Michael Baron
Music Direction by Ann-Carol Pence
In Collaboration with Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma
After a breakout hit with audiences at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre New Musical Festival, The new hit musical, King Of Pangea, is making its home here at Aurora Theatre! Drawing inspiration from the playwright’s own experiences, this fantasy musical memoir intertwines realism, humor, and whimsy, reminiscent of the enchanting adventure found in The Wizard of Oz. Following the sudden loss of his mother, 21-year-old Christopher Crow embarks on a poignant journey back to the imaginary island of Pangea, a whimsical realm he and his mother created together during his childhood. Along the way, Christopher encounters transformed versions of his family, who embody the vibrant characters of his childhood imagination. As Christopher navigates this fantastical landscape, he seeks answers to heal his shattered heart and put the pieces of his life back together. Making its way to Aurora Theatre, audiences will discover that hope is the true way back home, and the journey to reclaim one’s identity is a powerful exploration of love, loss, and the magic that binds us.
